The Brussels Business | About
THE BRUSSELS BUSINESS ONLINE Have your say
The Brussels Business Online (TBBO) is an interactive & participative online platform that allows you to get involved with EU matters! New democratic tool, TBBO is your gateway to the EU parliament, with a brand new topic discussed every week. Get the chance to know more about decisions your representatives make at the European Parliament. Step inside the black box: be part of the Brussels Business. Discuss, vote, become an MEP!

The Brussels Business > just got its online version! Here is why: to answer Europe’s biggest challenge: create link with its own citizens. Web users can follow day by day, for 8 weeks, debates as they unfold at the EU parliament. They can vote just as MEPs do in real time, discuss and discover what is really at the heart of the EU bubble.

The concept of the platform is very simple: it is about creating a short and instinctive experience around an issue discussed and voted at the EU parliament. Two lobbyists face each other and confront their point of view. Online citizens get informed and vote for the show-fact they find most convincing. Then they can connect with their own MEP and make their voices heard. TBBO aims at creating a real dialogue. Brussels is nowadays bogged down in a serious democratic gap.

For 8 weeks, a team of journalists based in Brussels adds to the debate, sharing articles, videos lobbyists point of views, interviews, photoreports etc.

Welcome on The Brussels Business Online!

Common Fisheries Policy reform, bank recapitalisation, trading of greenhouse gas emission quotas, transparency register, cigarette pack’s display, data privacy, biofuels…

Between February 5th and April 5th this website tackled eight European issues, debated at the same time at the European Parliament. Opinions, face-to-face confrontations of two lobbyists on each question, Internet users’ votes, social network buzz, The Brussels Business Online has generated lots of reactions. Comments and votes are now closed but all the content of our website will remain for you to read and watch.
